Downwind Daze 2022/2023 - The Legend Continues

These Downwind Events may be the most exciting time you will have on a SUP board. The wind on your back, paddling with the wind-runners, great paddle community around you, a souvenir high vis top to keep.
Book the dates into your paddle diary now:

Nov 19/20

Jan 21/22

Mar 4/5

Apart from the fun of downwind paddling and an introduction to the associated skills for paddlers new to this discipline, we encourage everyone registering for the Lakes Entrance event or state technical and or distance events to use Downwind Daze as a training tool. You will be surrounded by crew with similar goals and a vast paddle knowledge base to tap into.

As always, we plamn in a two-day window to get the best conditions. Course, times, etc, will be emailed out the Thursday evening prior to the event.

We will be having 3 starts:

1)  The community crew -  paddlers who are confidant over 10 – 12k, who don’t want to race but enjoy some fun downwind paddle time

2) Racing women and all over 60 crew

3) Racing Men

Safety craft (jetski) will be present on the water. All registyrants must wear event high-vis top so safety craft are able to do his job. We go through safety signs for attracting sthe safety craft in the event briefing. That said, after 5 years our safety crew have not had to rescue one paddler and would like that record to continue.
