"How do I get around the corners?"
At the recent State Titles Tech Race at Pt Leo, it was great to see such a large field and so much enthusiasm.
Everyone had a a good start and decent board speed buoy to buoy, but most paddlers were caught short at the turn markers.
With the emphasis in the future being on shorter course events [with more turns], here's the opportunity to learn what it takes to "Chuck a U-Turn" at that crucial moment. [Do you feel your HR rising?]
This clinic will cover:
- Setting up the turn
- Footwork, balance & bladework
- Upwind & downwind turns.
- Turning under pressure
- Getting to "Know" your board [I will break down specifics pertinent to what you're paddling, every board is so different]
- Exiting & accelerating from a turn.
- Party trick turns [great way to impress your mates!]
I've scheduled this clinic specifically 2 weeks ahead of the Aust Titles Tech Race, so for those of you who want to tune up pre event, then here's the ideal opportunity to gain that advantage and become more confident when you're out on the course.
Even if you're not thinking of doing the Tech Race, this is a great way to unlock the mysteries of what it takes to turn.
Expect to be pushed, expect to get wet, expect to come out the other end and be so stoked that you've jumped on the "Progression Train"
