Time to embrace the grace and spirit that embodies true sup surfing culture. The 10ft category has reignited how sup's were originally ridden and taken it to the next level. We all started out paddling on longboards, so dust off yours and make sure you get to this event. It's more a celebration of surfing than a comp.  If you can stand on a board and ride a wave, you qualify! The event is proudly supported by Longboard Sup Revolution, 1 SUP 1 and Ockanui.    Prizes will be awarded for best male & female stylists, best wipeout, best headstand and most expressive display.           

Final roll of the dice to get Event #3 run and decide our Men's and Women's Series Winners. We've had some epic swells during Winter, but the wind has scuttled the past couple of event dates. With Spring approaching and milder temperatures forecast for this weekend, we're giving it the green light. We'll hit the water this Sunday 26th August, with the first heat starting at the very civil hour of 9 am. The SUPVIC Annual General Meeting for 2018 will be held at Hobson's Stores, 19-21 Melrose Street Sandringham. 5pm for a 5:30 start, pre-meeting drinks and nibbles served from 5:00-5:30. Please book ahead (for catering and seating purposes - no charge).

Hey Sup Vic Crew, One of our longtime interstate supporters, John Engel and his family are currently enduring the kind of hardship that as a parent, can only be described as heartbreaking. As fellow paddlers & a club, Sup Vic will be hosting a fundraising event on Sunday, April 13th to help raise much needed funds to assist in Ella's ongoing treatment.  John Engel describes Ella's condition below.        Ella Engel has been severely ill for two years and has been diagnosed with severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). ME is a complex, multi-system, neuroimmune condition with a multitude of debilitating symptoms affecting the Brain, Gastro-intestinal system, Immune system, Endocrine and Cardiac systems. Ella is now profoundly disabled, effectively bedridden, unable to walk, sit up in bed for long or manage almost any aspect of self-care on her own. This has impacted every aspect of her life, from the inability to study or attend school to socialising with friends and family. There is no clear treatment pathway for ME due to the fact that it’s a disease that has been under-researched and there is no known cure. Some amazing friends have banded together to organise an evening to support Ella's treatment and raise awareness of ME.    So, as fellow paddlers I urge you to come along and donate. To register go to:  https://www.surfingaustralia.com/states/vic/events/2018-hif-victorian-sup-titles The 2018 HIF Victorian SUP Titles presented by RockTape will be held on the Surf Coast with Surfing and Technical race being held at Point Impossible and Marathon races finishing at Cosy Corner in Torquay. The HIF Victorian SUP Titles is the exclusive qualification pathway for the State's elite SUP competitors for selection into the Victorian SUP Team, set to compete at the Australian SUP Titles later in the year. Please note changes in 2018 after the Surfing Australia SUP Forum that was held at the 2017 Australian SUP Titles.  - All Marathon and Technical Divisions will now be 14ft and under - Under 18 Divisions to be included in Marathon and Tech Race (Must be over 13 years old). - 10ft Longboard Surf Division to be a non-qualification event - There will be no allocations in Marathon and Techinical races for the 2018 Australian SUP Titles. In order to qualify for the Australian SUP Titles, competitiors must compete in their respective state title in that year. - The 2018 Australian SUP Titles will be held on the Gold Coast.

The Sup Vic Annual Surf Weekend is one of those events that you'll kick yourself for if you don't make it. After 7 years visiting the splendid coastal town of Inverloch, the 2017 soiree saw the Sup Vic crew head to Wilson's Prom. It was a weekend of epic proportions with waves, sup touring, warm weather and some fun campsite socialising. For 2018, we'll be descending upon the famed Pt Leo Reserve, home of the Peninsula Pod. The area offers unlimited paddling potential and the camping area is directly above the favoured breaks, so everything is literally at the doorstep of your tent. The format will be loose, fun and whatever you wish to make it. Surfing will be the operative, but expect a potential downwinder, bop session, ocean paddle or maybe even a windsup? Our club president Damien Quinlan and Chris Clarke [ SV waterman and experienced State level comp surfer] will be running an informative clinic on the finer points of how to prepare and execute your repetoire within a surf comp. With the success of the 2017 Winter Surf Series, this is an excellent opportunity to hear from a qualified surf judge and a decorated surf competitor. This weekend is coming up soon, so tuck the date away, book your campsite and get set for another weekend of "Sup Vic Surf Frothing!"   "Who's In?" [Not Out]           

Sunday 25 February 2018   Stand-up paddle boarders will join forces with SUP Vic and the Sandringham Yacht Club to raise much needed funds for Sandringham Hospital.   The SUP Vic Mad Paddle will see 50 paddlers set out on Port Phillip Bay for a 30km+ downwinder ending at Sandringham Yacht Club. This is the fourth time the Mad Paddle has been held in support of Sandringham Hospital.    The 2018 SUP Vic Mad Paddle fundraising target is $30,000 which will go towards funding state-of-the-art emergency department equipment to improve care for children who present at Sandringham Hospital. If you love to paddle and love a challenge register now as numbers are limited. The event will culminate with a community barbeque at the Sandringham Yacht Club.    Help raise funds for Sandringham Hospital by joining the paddle, donating in support of a paddler or join the fundraising activities at Sandringham Yacht Club on Sunday 25 February 2018.
