Raws reserve
8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Social Paddle for Saturday, October 4th at Point Leo. High tide is close to 9am, so we’ll aim to get on the water at 8.30am which will give us a good depth of water for at least 90 minutes. Parking in Raws Reserve near the Point Leo Boat Club. This is not a surf session, and we will keep away from the breaks if there’s a good swell and crowd out on the point. 8am arrival for 8:20am safety briefing and on the water 8:30am Of course, if you want to catch runners for the session, that’s definitely fine. The paddle direction will be NW towards Merricks, turning around to be back at the start around 10am. We will finish up with a ten-minute litter pick up around the foreshore. #Take3forTheSea. More details will be posted a few days before the paddle, including confirmation about the weather and water conditions being suitable.   Mark Renouf hosting   #take3forthesea   Social paddles included in SUPVIC financial membership https://supvic.tidyhq.com  Leg Rope essential. Sup Vic is keeping the tradition alive!! This day is going to be like no other you've seen before A few years ago, Surfing Vic gave Sup Vic the opportunity to run both the State Titles Tech & Marathon Races due to the depth of experience we have amongst our ranks.  Tech Racing is the the most achievable of the two disciplines due to it's short course format (2-3 kms) Any paddler of intermediate standard with a 12'6" or 14'0" board can take part in this race. It's a super fun race that leaves a huge smile on all participants faces.  The bonus being a Victorian is that you can also transition your form into the Australian Sup Titles at Phillip Island in October. More fun and essentially our home break Time to get the heart rate up & see why "Bop" is all the rage!! Special entry offer for new (or re-activation) of SUP Vic membership with complimentary entry to the BOP race.   As part of our epic line-up, we’re bringing you THE BIGGEST Board Demo Day you’ve seen in a decade! Join us for a morning paddle on Saturday, Sept 6th at beautiful Keast Park, Seaford – an off-leash dog beach perfect for our furry mates (or just a peaceful paddle if you're coming solo or with a friend). Time: 8am, safety briefing 8:20am, on the water 8:30am Location: Keast Park, Seaford Post-paddle coffee: Crackerjack Café – super dog-friendly and serves a great brew! Got a pup? Doggy life jackets are recommended – but don’t stress if you don’t have one! Christine has 2 spares for small dogs (up to 8kg) – just sing out if you'd like to borrow one on the day. Let’s paddle, laugh, get salty, and sip coffee together Please note: It is not essential to bring your pup - if you just want to paddle there will be paddlers without a pup If you do bring a pup please ensure: Your pup has good recall, is friendly and social, can swim and has been on the SUP before as this is not a learn how to paddle with your pup session. (Make sure you have your doggy do bags too) Depending on yours and your Pups experience on the board, wear appropriate clothing on the paddle, bring a change of clothes. Christine Netterfield and Tracey Fisher have planned this paddle.    #take3forthesea   Social paddles included in SUPVIC financial membership https://supvic.tidyhq.com  Leg Rope essential. Tech/Bop Race Super Clinic
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Tech Racing.......Bop Racing, call it what you will. But what is all of the hype about? Quite simply, this format of event covers all bases and is the most fun you can have competing. BOP [Or Battle of the Paddle] originated around 2010 and was essentially a short course race [3 kms] in and around a surf break. There have  been some epic races globally [including Australia] over the years, but more recently with the Europeans adopting the format, this discipline is now more focused about paddling speed, fitness & turns whilst still embracing the art of riding bumps rather than getting a flogging in the surf break.   With the upcoming State Titles Tech Race in September and the Aussie Titles in October, here's your chance to learn what it takes to enter [if you wish] or just develop your paddling skill set. Bop/Tech race training is the most complete method of getting everything you need from a good old cardio session that has you feeling exhilarated everytime.   To take part in this clinic the minimum requirements are - Intermediate paddler - hard board, preferably a 12'6" or 14'0" - can turn both ways - no fear of getting wet - desire to improve sup skills & gain an insight to regular training - Stoke to learn the art of catching & riding bumps [and waves!] This clinic is limited to 10 participants to ensure a high level of individualised instruction. Location will be advised 3 days ahead to ensure the best possible conditions. Be prepared to travel 1.5hrs from Melbourne (road trip fun!!)

August Social Paddle
McCrae Lighthouse
8:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Join us for the last SUP Vic winter social paddle for 2025. August 2nd, meet 8:30am – on the water at 9am. Winter is a great time of year to be paddling as the conditions are often excellent, the beaches uncrowded, parking easy and the coffee hotter. The plan is to hold this paddle launching from near the lighthouse in McCrae in front of the McCrae Yacht Club.   It will be a high tide, which works well for paddling from McCrae. Fingers crossed that the wind will be light or slight and offshore (southerly) which creates glass like conditions in #MagicMcCrae. This location also has good toilets, easy parking, a good choice of coffee shop and a free public BBQ.   Daavid Turnball hosting at his favourite location McCrae.     #Take3forthesea   Social paddles included in SUPVIC financial membership https://supvic.tidyhq.com  Leg Rope essential. If the weather doesn't join the party and there is some chop, we can paddle around the harbour and go penguin spotting.
